Education

Upon the last 4 years, SOGHA has been taking active role in promoting Education for all, through empowering children enrolment in schools specially girls those were previously lower number than boys in the local context of Somalia. SOGHA’s Education activities mainly focus on inclusive and sustainable education for children, and for those objectives, SOGHA raises education-based awareness for parents and caregivers, as well as provides promoting facilities to the learning centers most notably recreational materials and food in school in order to minimize the children turnouts from school.

Moreover, SOGHA conducts periodic and random assessments on the learning centers to identify the gaps and challenges they’re going through, as well conducts advocacy campaigns to respond. Tusmo iyo Tacliin (Convince to Educate) is one of the recently concluded education projects that SOGHA has ran, which has targeted parents & caregivers in Benadir region specially in the IDPs. The project had an awareness component to convince parents & caregivers send their children to schools regardless of the difficulties so that they can come over that situation. This has resulted an increase to the children enrolment up to 280 children (190B 90G) within the year of 2021.

SOGHA is also active member in the Education Cluster and puts its contribution towards strengthening Education quality in Somalia.
