Girls
Female children under 18

SOGHA addresses the interconnected barriers affecting Somali girls and young women through an integrated, girl-centered and rights-based approach.
Somali girls continue to face multiple protection and justice challenges, including violence, sexual abuse, child and early marriage, FGM and other harmful practices, exploitation, discrimination, domestic violence, child labour and other forms of abuse.
SOGHA works to strengthen girls’ understanding of their rights and improve their ability to identify, prevent, report and respond to protection concerns.

SOGHA promotes girls’ access to safe, inclusive and quality education while supporting their physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.
The organization works to address barriers to education, health information, menstrual health and hygiene, adolescent health, psychosocial support and access to appropriate services.

SOGHA works to strengthen the skills, confidence, networks and opportunities that enable girls and young women to pursue employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.

SOGHA creates meaningful opportunities for girls to develop leadership, communication, advocacy, civic participation and decision-making skills and to have their voices heard.

SOGHA works to strengthen girls’ resilience and capacity to remain safe, informed and engaged during humanitarian, environmental and digital challenges.

SOGHA is dedicated to Somali girls and young women, with particular focus on their rights, protection, education, health, empowerment, leadership, participation and future opportunities.
